Essential Responsibilities Provide Excellent College‑Preparatory Instruction to All Scholars Develop and maintain a positive, achievement‑oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture that motivates scholars to learn at college‑preparatory levels. Effectively execute assigned curriculum and provide just‑in‑time supports to reach every scholar, regardless of prior background, disability, or English‑language fluency. Internalize the curriculum and standards, collaborate in teacher teams, and prepare daily lesson plans, instructional materials, and exit tickets aligned to rigorous college‑ready standards. Use exit tickets, unit tests, interim exams, and assessment data to determine differentiated re‑teaching needed to advance scholars toward mastery. Collaborate with peers to ensure all scholars receive appropriate support, including necessary accommodations. Uphold Alliance Values and Standards of Excellence Provide opportunities aligned with the Alliance College‑Ready Graduate Profile. Create a coherent and supportive classroom culture to support engagement, learning, and well‑being. Support Alliance’s goal of having 75% or more scholars complete a four‑year college degree. Build strong and collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, families, scholars, and alumni. Social justice: desire to teach in underserved communities and integrate anti‑racist, student‑centered instruction. Culture: develop a high‑expectation, collaborative classroom culture. Expertise: possess strong academic content expertise, instructional and classroom‑management skills, and knowledge of effective assessment techniques. Minimum Qualifications A California teaching credential in the assigned subject area(s) and a valid English Learner Authorization are required. Applicants who will hold any of the following credentials by their start date are welcome to apply: California Single‑Subject Credential in English (Clear or Preliminary). California University or District Intern Credential in English. Equivalent out‑of‑state Credential transferring to California. For Middle School only: California Multiple‑Subject or Single‑Subject Credential with an Introductory Supplementary Authorization in English. Applicants without a credential must provide a transcript for evaluation toward an emergency teaching permit. Those without a current credential or a verifiable pathway to a California teaching credential will not be considered.
