Overview Job Posting: Adult Choir Director Location: Fincastle United Methodist Church, Fincastle, VA (20 minutes from Roanoke) Job Type: Part-Time About Us: Fincastle United Methodist Church is a welcoming and vibrant congregation with a rich musical tradition. We are seeking a talented and dedicated Choir Director to join our worship team, lead our adult choir effectively and joyfully, and improve and encourage the musical capabilities of our musicians. Responsibilities Select and recommend music for the adult choir. Lead weekly choir rehearsals (September – June). Conduct the choir and congregational music for Sunday morning Worship Services and special services. Plan and coordinate special music for summer services. Serve as a coordinator/advisor for related musical groups, such as the ensemble and hand-bell choir. Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of choir members. Qualifications Experience directing church choirs. Formal education and background in music or music education. Ability to collaborate with, teach, and inspire volunteer musicians in an affirming manner. Desired Characteristics Familiarity with a wide variety of Christian music, including traditional and contemporary. Compensation Commensurate with skills and experience.
