Position Summary

We are seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance professional to join our on-site team. This full-time role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance programs across our facility and supply chain.

This role is instrumental in supporting our HACCP, GMP, SQF, USDA Organic, GFSI, and customer compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, collaborative, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and maintain food safety programs: HACCP, SQF Level 2, GFSI, FDA, USDA Organic, Kosher, Allergen Control, Traceability, etc.

· Develop, implement, and maintain key documentation: Food Safety Plans, Sanitation SOPs, GMP, Organic Plan, MSDS, Recall Program, Training Manuals, etc.

· Coordinate and support third-party audits and certifications (Organic, Kosher, SQF, etc.).

· Manage supplier qualification and documentation updates.

· Maintain lab testing schedules (microbiological and allergen testing) and partner with third-party labs.

· Develop product specifications, ingredient statements, and nutritional labels.

· Oversee QA inspections on raw materials, WIP, finished goods, packaging, and facility hygiene.

· Train employees on GMP, HACCP, and food safety protocols.

· Address customer complaints and lead investigations to resolution.

· Maintain pest control logs and facility inspection programs.

· Collaborate with R&D for new product development and formulation testing.

· Maintain all quality databases and document control systems.

· Support internal audits and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science. Or Food Biology (REQUIRED)
  • Master’s degree or equivalent job experience of 7-12 years in food manufacturing industry. ( IS A BIG PLUS BUT NOT REQUIRED)
  • Between 5-10 years of experience in U.S. food manufacturing on the floor (Required)
  • Certified SQF Certified Practitioner (Required)
  • Certified HACCP Certification (Required)
  • Certified GMP ( Required)
  • Certified SQF auditor experience ( IS A BIG PLUS – but not required)
  • Certified Organic auditor experience (IS A BIG PLUS – but not required).
  • Experience with Organic Certification and audits ( REQUIRED)
  • Experience with SQF and Kosher audits (REQUIRED)
  • Experience with Non-GMO
  • Trained in GFSI SQF version 8 and version 9. ( IS MUST)
  • Strong understanding of FDA-FSMA regulations and GFSI standards. ( Is A Must).
  • Strong understanding of FDA-FSVP requirements and regulations (IS A MUST)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with production, procurement, and sales.
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 suite of tools, outlook, Excel, pdf documents. ( IS A MUST)
  • Experience with ATP Testing, swabbing equipment’s ( IS A MUST)
  • Experience with Food Environmental testing and working with external laboratories. ( IS A MUST)
  • Experience with Allergen Program, Backward Traceability, Mass Balance ( Required).
  • Experience with Training employees for GMP, HACCP, Food Hygiene, QA responsibilities. ( IS A MUST)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience is a big plus.
  • Experience in product R&D and label compliance is desirable but not required.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Full-Time On-site, Monday–Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm( flexible hours - 30 mins to 1 hour lunch break ) with occasional weekends or evening work if business requires. However, you must be on-site during Production hours.
  • Occasional travel to supplier sites for audits and verification. ( only if necessary ).
