Description
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers research opportunities for scientists to engage in NASA projects at NASA Centers, Headquarters, or affiliated research institutes. Fellowships last from one to three years and aim to advance NASAs missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration, and astrobiology.
Research Focus: The Energetic Particle Lab (EPL) in the Heliophysics Science Division is developing instruments to measure charged and neutral particles using solid state detectors and scintillators with silicon photomultipliers (SiPM). There are opportunities to modernize neutron and gamma-ray spectrometers, which are vital for Heliophysics, Planetary, and Astrophysics research, with potential for commercial and technological transfer applications. The focus includes developing compact, low-power, lightweight instruments suitable for the Artemis program, capable of detecting neutrons across the energy spectrum, and simulating instrument response and environment.

Qualifications
Applicants should have a PhD in physics or engineering, with skills in computer programming, experimental physics, instrument development/testing, and good communication skills.
