Seeking an OPS MANAGER
General Summary: Network Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Network Manager ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to scheduled timelines. OPS manager will ensure delivery of projects and deliverables are met to avoid impact to production or programs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor, manage, and mentor network operations/support tech team
- Ensure the primary infrastructure systems within the network (network devices, servers, workstations, VDI systems, camera systems) are effectively maintained, and administered to ensure smooth reliable operations
- Ensure effective monitoring, maintenance, and administration of automated network, server, power, and security alerting systems
- Ensure effective monitoring, maintenance, and administration of automated backup systems to ensure data continuity and integrity for all systems
- Oversee incidents, requests, and change management within ServiceNow. Ensure SLAS are correctly defined and met
- Oversee maintenance of infrastructure inventory and ensure maintenance of critical spares at all facilities
- Ensure effective coordination and cooperation with the IT ServiceDesk to smoothly facilitate the resolution of cross domain incidents/requests
- Oversee, maintain, administer, and develop automated infrastructure systems, workflows, and scripts
- Oversee, maintain, and build documentation for both end users and staff
Minimum Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN communications (MPLS), network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways and firewalls, ASA's (AP), audio/video.
- Candidate must be a team player and be able to follow processes and procedures, be punctual, innovative, problem solver, ability to deliver, ability to prioritize and escalate
- Self-disciplined, self-starter, professional who can successfully bring projects to closure with minimum direction, guidance and oversight.
- In-depth knowledge Windows 10, VMWARE, Backups, Storage, Security, Recovery
Preferred Requirements:
- Strong demonstrable fundamental technical knowledge of networks, systems, and general IT systems (email, phones, word processors etc.)
- Experience with several of the following technical areas: Server hardware, enterprise storage hardware/software, VMWare (ESXi, vcenter, and Horizon), network switches/routers/firewalls (Cisco preferred), enterprise backup software, enterprise monitoring software, Microsoft Windows (server and desktop)
- Management/supervisory experience
- Excellent logical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with direct reports, senior management, and other departments
- Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills
- Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment
Minimum Requirements — Associates in Computer Science and 10 years of experience with computer hardware/maintenance and leadership skills
Preferred Requirements — BA with 10 year experience working in Federal Government agency
