Per Diem Registered Nurse – Ophthalmology Surgery Center (Circulating/PACU)

Location: St. Michael’s Surgery Center, Largo, FL
Job Type: Per Diem

St. Michael’s Surgery Center in Largo, FL, is a premier ophthalmic surgery center specializing in premium cataract surgery, Ocular Lasers,, and other advanced eye procedures. We are committed to delivering the highest quality patient care and are seeking Per Diem Registered Nurses to join our team for circulating and PACU roles.

Responsibilities:

Circulating Nurse:

• Prepare and position patients for ophthalmic procedures.
• Assist the surgical team with instrument and supply management.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Monitor patient safety and respond to intraoperative needs.

PACU Nurse:

• Provide post-anesthesia care and monitor patient recovery.
• Assess vitals, pain levels, and readiness for discharge.
• Educate patients and caregivers on post-op instructions.
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team regarding patient status.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Florida.
• BLS & ACLS certification (required).
• Experience in ophthalmic surgery, PACU, or OR circulating preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule & Compensation:

• Per Diem, flexible scheduling based on surgical caseload.
• Competitive hourly rate.
