Job Title: Pipe Welder
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Welder to join our team at a leading manufacturer and distributor of mechanical seals. The role involves welding on pipe and pressure vessels ranging from 4" to 10" in diameter, with a focus on fabricating parts for the seals and pump industry. This position will always involve welding in position, with the benefit of rotating the pipe to avoid working underneath.

Responsibilities

• Weld pipes and pressure vessels ranging from 4" to 10" in diameter.
• Fabricate parts for the seals and pump industry, working in a job shop environment.
• Perform MIG root and Flux Core fill and cap welding techniques.
• Conduct weld tests on 6" pipe schedule 40 rollouts using MIG and Flux Core methods.

• 7+ years of experience in pipe welding.
• Proficiency in MIG and Flux Core Welding.
• Ability to weld on a rollout and handle pipes ranging from 4" schedule 10 to 10" schedule 160.
• Experience with carbon steel and stainless steel 306 & 316.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and WPS.

• Extensive experience in MIG and Flux Core welding.
• Expertise in 6G welding, short arc MIG, and TIG welding.
• Experience with welding on pressure vessels and both thick and thin materials.

Work Environment

Work in a newer, clean facility with open bay doors and fans, accommodating a small team of 5-7 people. The schedule runs on the 1st shift from Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 6:30pm, with Saturday hours depending on workflow. The facility features a "Systems" shop for welding and assembly and a Machine shop with CNC programmers and machinists. Proper attire includes steel-toed boots, jeans, a work shirt, and safety glasses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
