Position Overview :

The Sexual Health Capacity Building Coordinator will work in partnership with the Community Health Equity and Promotion Branch of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) capacity building staff and community-based organizations to support the development and implementation of culturally appropriate models of low barrier sexual health clinical services in Health Access Points (HAPs).The Sexual Health Capacity Building Coordinator will work as part of a team with SFDPH and HAP staff to develop and implement a plan for sexual health services that meets the unique needs of each community served by the HAPs. The Sexual Health Capacity Building Coordinator will provide capacity building and technical assistance to support program design and the compliance infrastructure, including development of policies and procedures, forms and intake procedures, service delivery workflows, and licenses and certifications required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Project Management: Provides project management to the team comprised of SFDPH, HAP leadership, and subject matter experts to ensure that work plan deliverables and milestones are established and achieved. Develops planning framework, assists with agenda setting, meeting facilitation, documentation, and project-related data collection and analysis.

• Program Planning and Development: Responsible for working collaboratively with SFDPH, HAP leaders, HAP subcontractors, and others to develop a program plan and a specific measurable workplan for implementation of sexual health services at HAPs. Establishes standards of care for services to meet community needs, clinical requirements, and meets funding expectations. Builds relationships, identifies needs, and ensures collaboration to determine effective models for integrated testing at each site. Provides guidance on the development of lab services. Support the internal SFAF HAP programs to coordinate and collaborate.

• Sexual Health Service Capacity Building: Responsible for providing guidance and hands-on support to HAP leadership and staff for development of sexual health services. This includes identifying and bringing in additional subject matter experts to provide the support needed.

OTHER DUTIES:

• Supports coordination of community based events to build knowledge of the needs of the community and use this information to enhance capacity building assistance.

• Attend meetings with SFDPH, conduct site visits with HAPs, consult with local and state experts, participate in relevant training.

• Provide reports to SFAF leadership on capacity building accomplishments.

Essential Qualifications :

• Community Engagement : Extensive participation in the lived experiences and cultural contexts of MSM, Black/African American, Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander, Transgender and gender non-binary communities.
  
• Project Management and Supervisory Skills : Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Ability to organize projects by relevance and urgency. Ability to keep moving projects forward and project teams organized and cohesive. Help coordinate team meetings, agendas, and next steps to further the team's work. Experience facilitating training and/or meetings, navigating group dynamics and difficult conversations.

• STI/HIV services : Knowledge of STI/HIV services in San Francisco and the Bay Area as well as systems of care and current treatment and prevention modalities. Knowledge of current local and national epidemiologic and social science data related to health navigation/case management, social support, benefits, and housing for people with HIV. Beneficial to have knowledge and experience with general lab processes, techniques for both point of care and laboratory-based testing for HIV, HCV, STI.
  
• Public Health : Knowledge and experience in the area of public health, ideally related to STI and HIV or other communicable diseases. Interest in creating systems and structures to support the overall capacity building team. 
  
• Computer Skills : Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google G Suite.

• Customer Service : Ability to work comfortably with many different communities and stakeholders; exhibits sensitivity to issues concerning STI and HIV. Responds efficiently and cordially to requests for service and assistance.

Physical Requirements and Work Environments:

• Skill in operating equipment such as a personal computer, copy machine and telephone system.
• Ability to perform routine bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a community-based organization or nonprofit required.
• Experience utilizing complementary and alternative treatment methods with clinical health models to address whole-person wellness in manners that are culturally responsive to the diverse lived experiences in MSM, Black/African American, Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander communities, Transgender and gender non-binary communities.
• Minimum two years' experience coordinating projects and competing priorities.
• Experience working on projects to shift systems, policies, and practices in ways that advance equity.

This position will have access to protected health information (PHI) and may only access, use or disclose the minimum information necessary to perform their designated role on behalf of San Francisco AIDS Foundation, regardless of the extent of access provided.

Work Environment :

This position is primarily located at 940 Howard Street and 470 Castro Street, San Francisco, however it may occasionally require traveling to other office locations or off-site meetings as required by the job. Role may include evening and weekend coverage.
