Job Description

We are looking for a SharePoint Developer to join our Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) team in Washington, DC. The SharePoint Developer will develop and support out-of-the-box and custom SharePoint solutions using custom scripts, web parts, and features related to agency objectives, public programs, education, research, and other initiatives within PBGC, an independent agency of the U.S. government. The team operates within the agency’s Information Technology Infrastructure Operations Department (ITIOD). This role is part of the Development, Modernization, and Enhancement Team providing engineering solutions supporting PBGC ITIOD. It requires on-site work in Washington, D.C., at least 3 days a week, with remote work on other days. Responsibilities Provide support for SharePoint applications. Interface directly with stakeholders to develop quality applications and presentations that meet standards and needs. Offer technical guidance to other developers and assist with complex designs. Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. Support management to ensure effective resource use for timely project completion. Recommend changes to applications, content, and presentations to enhance effectiveness. Develop technical design documentation, Level of Efforts (LOEs), and manage development efforts, priorities, and timelines. Conduct technical reviews to ensure standards and best practices are followed. Report team performance and potential roadblocks to the team lead. Required Education and Experience Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. 5+ years of SharePoint client-side development experience using JavaScript frameworks/libraries and relevant front-end technologies. Skills Extensive experience with client-side technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery, CAML, XSLT, REST API/Web Services, and SharePoint CSOM. Familiarity with MVC/MVVM frameworks like AngularJS, React, and .NET MVC is a plus. Experience with SharePoint Framework, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and web parts customization. Experience integrating SharePoint with O365 Suite (Teams, Planner, Power BI, Power Automate, PowerApps). Hands-on experience with InfoPath and SharePoint Designer for workflows and data views. Knowledge of SharePoint roles, permissions, hierarchy, taxonomy, infrastructure, search, and services. Experience migrating SharePoint online content using ShareGate. Experience developing PowerShell scripts. Ability to troubleshoot front-end issues and enforce site standards, including security policies. Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. We offer: Competitive salary based on experience.
