What You Will Be Doing

The Senior Director of Product Management for Merchandising leads the vision, strategy, and execution for item setup, assortment management, and space planning, ensuring seamless onboarding, optimal strategies, and data-driven space planning to maximize sales and customer experience. This role is based in Pleasanton, CA.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a unified product vision and roadmap for item setup, assortment, and space planning.
  • Oversee end-to-end item lifecycle management, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of product managers and cross-functional partners.
  • Drive assortment planning strategies, including SKU optimization and segmentation.
  • Implement and optimize space planning strategies to enhance store layouts and product placement.
  • Collaborate with engineering, merchandising, planning, supply chain, and analytics teams.
  • Establish and track KPIs for efficiency, productivity, and space utilization.
  • Analyze market trends and sales data to identify automation and innovation opportunities.
  • Champion best practices in data governance, space optimization, and assortment planning.
  • Provide strategic insights to senior leadership and work autonomously on key decisions.

The salary range is $218,900 - $297,300 annually, with benefits including health insurance, PTO, holidays, retirement plans, and quarterly bonuses.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years in product management, with 8+ years in a senior leadership role within merchandising, item management, or space planning.
  • Proven leadership of large, cross-functional teams managing complex portfolios.
  • Deep understanding of merchandising operations, data structures, and retail space optimization.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; experience with product lifecycle and space planning tools.
  • Bachelors degree required; MBA or higher preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in retail or food industry loyalty programs.
