This position offers eligibility for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement initiative. Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria according to VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. The program approval, including award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years), is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to reapply. Qualifications To qualify, applicants must meet the basic requirements and any additional criteria listed in the job announcement. Pending completion of training or licensing requirements, applicants may be tentatively referred and selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are fulfilled. Current VA-employed physicians who initially met the qualification standards are deemed to have met the basic requirements. Basic Requirements: U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens only if recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible per VA policy Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited school Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S. Completion of residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification Enrolled residents in approved programs may be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs) under supervision Proficiency in English Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesia/PMRS/Neurology Completed a Pain Management Fellowship Preferred experience in interdisciplinary pain rehabilitation and musculoskeletal ultrasound Physical Requirements: Meet physical standards; physical examination required prior to placement Designated drug testing position with random testing for illegal drug use Ability to lift 15-44 pounds, push, reach above shoulder, use fingers and hands, walk, stand, kneel, and coordinate rapidly Must have depth perception and color discrimination; hearing aid permitted Duties include but are not limited to: Developing and implementing treatment for pain diagnoses, including interventional procedures Reviewing and performing outpatient pain management consults and follow-ups Providing patient education and evaluations in the Outpatient Interdisciplinary Pain Program Performing interventional pain procedures under fluoroscopy Developing treatment plans for various pain syndromes Maintaining privileges at accredited facilities and traveling as needed Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to restore function and provide comprehensive care #J-18808-Ljbffr National Medical Association
